Job summary

RRD is seeking a 2nd shift Press Operator to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain multiple press systems. You will perform make-ready tasks, inspect plates and blankets, adjust color and registration, and keep the press in good working order to meet quality specifications.

The role offers a 2nd shift 3pm–11pm with a $3/hour premium and a $2,000 sign-on bonus for new hires. Must have offset printing expertise and the ability to perform precise adjustments. Benefits package available.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials and specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret job specifications and determine press settings.
• Skill to use micrometer to mount/align printing plates and perform routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain press equipment.
• Perform make-ready tasks: hang plates, install cylinders, prep blankets, adjust tension and registration.
• Make color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specs.
• Clean, lubricate, maintain press and replace worn parts; perform minor repairs.

Job Description

• The position is responsible to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a number of press equipment
• Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and checks for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register etc.
• Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required
• Performs periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer

Shift:2nd - Monday - Friday 3pm to 11pm

Shift Premium:$3 per hour

Sign on Bonus:$2000 (new hires only)

Qualifications

• Requires thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials and specifiactions, equipment, and safety requirements and skills to perform assignments
• Skill to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings and materials needed to run the job successfully
• Skill to make a variety of difficult precise settings of controls, settings, and adjustments, and to perform routine operational maintenance of equipment
• Skill inroutine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment
• Knowledge of the appropriate amount of packing pressure needed to obtain the proper printing pressure for the type of job being run
• Skill in use of micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly

Thesalary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $20.19 - $33.78 / hour.Starting pay decisions are determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business needs.Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation packagemay also include a sign-on bonus of $2000,overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay.
