Job summary

RRD is seeking a Press Operator in Bucks County, PA to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain multiple press systems. You will handle make-ready tasks, color corrections, and ensure quality specs are met during production runs.

The role requires thorough offset printing knowledge and precision in press controls, with a 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3pm-11pm) and a $3 per hour shift premium. A $2000 sign-on bonus is offered for new hires.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, and safety requirements.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications and determine press usage and materials.
• Skill to set controls and adjustments precisely and perform routine maintenance.
• Experience in routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
• Knowledge of the appropriate packing pressure to achieve proper printing pressure.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a number of press equipment.

• Make color corrections and adjustments to meet quality specs before production.

Job Description

• The position is responsible to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a number of press equipment
• Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and checks for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register etc.
• Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required
• Performs periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer

Shift: 2nd - Monday - Friday 3pm to 11pm

Shift Premium: $3 per hour

Sign on Bonus: $2000 (new hires only)

Qualifications

• Requires thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials and specifiactions, equipment, and safety requirements and skills to perform assignments
• Skill to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings and materials needed to run the job successfully
• Skill to make a variety of difficult precise settings of controls, settings, and adjustments, and to perform routine operational maintenance of equipment
• Skill inroutine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment
• Knowledge of the appropriate amount of packing pressure needed to obtain the proper printing pressure for the type of job being run
• Skill in use of micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly

The salary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $20.19 - $33.78 / hour. Starting pay decisions are determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business needs. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also include a sign-on bonus of $2000, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay.
