Position Overview

This position is for a Press Operator 2 on the 12-hour rotating day shift (7am - 7pm).

Requirements:

• The position is responsible for setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining press equipment.
• Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated, such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections, and checking for correct image positioning, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register, etc.
• Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production to meet quality specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required.
• Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
• Requires thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, safety requirements, and skills to perform assignments.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine appropriate press usage, settings, and materials.
• Skill to make precise settings of controls and perform routine operational maintenance of equipment.
• Knowledge of the appropriate packing pressure for proper printing results.
• Skill in using micrometers to mount and align printing plates correctly.

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $23.46 to $35.68 per hour. The actual rate may vary based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location.
