Job summary

NABRICO Marine Products in Ashland City, TN is seeking a safety-focused Press Operator. You will set up and operate hydraulic and mechanical press equipment to form steel components for inland barges and marine products.

NABRICO Marine Products is seeking a safety-focused, detail-oriented Press Operator to join our team in Ashland City, TN. In this role, you will set up and operate press equipment to form, shape, and manufacture steel components used in the production of inland barges and marine products. Our products help transport essential commodities including grain, coal, aggregates, petroleum products, fertilizers, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes throughout the nation's waterways. In addition to manufacturing dry cargo and tank barges, NABRICO Marine Products is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers and produces a complete line of marine deck hardware, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.

What You'll Do
  • Set up and operate hydraulic, mechanical, or punch press equipment to form and fabricate steel components according to production specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, production drawings, and job specifications.
  • Verify material dimensions and ensure parts are produced within required tolerances.
  • Perform machine set-ups, adjustments, and tooling changes as needed to support production.
  • Inspect finished parts to verify quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
  • Safely load, position, and remove materials from press equipment using proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material handling equipment as needed to stage materials and completed parts.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance while reporting mechanical issues to supervision.
  • Maintain production records and accurately document completed work.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with welders, fitters, saw operators, and other production personnel to support manufacturing operations.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience operating press equipment in a manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy industrial environment is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production drawings.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and use precision measuring tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely set up and adjust manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material handling equipment is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Excellent attendance, dependability, and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely work around press equipment, forklifts, overhead cranes, and other industrial machinery.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and industrial conditions.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays based on production needs.
  • Ability to follow work instructions, production schedules, and established procedures while maintaining safety and quality standards.
