RR Donnelley in Monroe, WI is hiring a Press Operator 1 for the 2nd shift (Monday through Thursday, approx. 3:00pm–1:00am). Starting pay is $21.00 per hour with a $2.00 per hour shift differential and potential overtime.

You will set up, adjust, operate and maintain offset presses, perform make-ready tasks, and ensure color accuracy and quality. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, and more.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand job specifications to determine press setup materials.

Job Description

Press Operator 1 - 2nd Shift (M-Th approx. 3:00pm to 1:00am) starting at $21.00 per hour, plus an additional $2 per hour premium shift differential!

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain single or multi-color offset press
• Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and checks for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register etc.
• Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required
• Performs periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, equipment and safety requirements and skills to perform assignments
• Skill to read and understand job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully
• Must have sufficient knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate use of the press and corrective adjustments required to run efficiently
• Knowledge of the appropriate amount of packing pressure needed to obtain the proper printing pressure for the type of job being run
• Skill in use of measuring tools such as a ruler or micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly
• Skill in routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment
• Ability to make adjustments to feeder and feed board (e.g., ability to adjust suctions and blast, front and side guides and the timing of the head stops).

Additional Information

Position Hours

Monday to Thursday 10-hr 2nd Shift (approx. 3:00pm to 1:00am). Qualified candidates must be able to work evening and late night hours. There is a $2.00 per hour premium shift differential. OT m ay be available on some Fridays paid at time and a half!

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $21.00 to $23.25 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
