Job summary

MiTek Industries is seeking a production operator to operate stamping presses and related packaging processes in a facility transitioning from Largo to Zephyrhills, FL. You will ensure safety and quality while maintaining accurate production records and supporting maintenance teams.

The role requires basic math, reading blueprints, and ability to work in multiple locations during the move, with overtime as needed to meet daily goals.

Qualifications

  • High School/GED preferred.
  • Up to 1 year related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Able to read and understand prints and schematics.
  • Able to use tape measure with 1/32-inch increments.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Operate stamping press and packaging processes.
  • Meet and/or exceed daily production goals.
  • Report machine malfunctions to mechanics or supervisors.
  • Assist mechanics to keep equipment operational.
  • Feed ribbon material into stamping dies and perform first piece inspection.
  • Manually pack metal connectors and steel components.
  • Inspect products to quality standards and mark lot numbers.
  • Monitor coolant and oil levels and adjust.
  • Complete quality and production paperwork during shift.
  • Be present, punctual and able to work overtime as required.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements A Brief Overview

Operate stamping presses and auxiliary equipment producing metal connector plates and steel components with manual and automated packaging processes. Ensuring safety and quality compliance, as well as precise production reporting, are major responsibilities of this role. THIS POSITION IS TEMPORARILY IN LARGO BUT WILL BE LOCATED IN ZEPHYRHILLS IN THE NEAR FUTURE. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN BOTH LOCATIONS UNTIL WE MOVE TO ZEPHYRHILLS.

What You Will Do:
  • Operate a stamping press and auxiliary equipment with manual and automated packaging processes
  • Meet and/or exceed daily production goals
  • Report all machine malfunctions to mechanics or supervisors
  • Assist mechanics whenever required to keep press/packaging equipment operational
  • Correctly feed slit ribbon material into the stamping dies and perform first piece inspection
  • Manually pack metal connectors and/or steel components into packaging containers.
  • Strive to keep product waste to a minimum; inspect finished products and mark steel lot numbers on shipping containers
  • Monitor production equipment coolant and oil levels and adjust accordingly
  • Ongoing inspection of products being produced to our internal quality standards
  • Complete quality and production paperwork in its entirety throughout assigned shift
  • Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes, but is not limited to the ability to work overtime as required, to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the work station ready for work at the start of the shift.
Qualifications
  • High School/GED preferred
  • Up to 1 Year related experience and/or training preferred
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis
  • Able to perform mathematical skills such as calculating proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and able to apply concepts of basic geometry
  • Ability to read and understand prints and schematics
  • Ability to use small hand-power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch increments
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Applications
