Job summary

Camaco is seeking an experienced operator to set-up and run transfer and progressive presses in a manufacturing environment in Ohio. The role requires reading measurements, verifying part dimensions, and maintaining a safe, productive work area.

You will load raw materials, operate cranes, document production data, and assist with tooling repairs. Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedures are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Hi-Lo Certification preferred.
  • Crane Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Transfer Press or Progressive Press and set dies in various machines.
  • Load and unload coils of steel and blanks used in the process.
  • Record production data for inventory control and downtime, die changes, and equipment failures.
  • Perform routine maintenance, assist with tool and die repairs, and monitor wear on tools.

Job description

Purpose

Set-Up and Operate Transfer Press, Progressive Press, and set dies in various machines as needed to produce quality parts and achieve production requirements. The department is structured as a formal team and requires the ability to work within the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operate Machinery, Transfer Press and/or Progressive Press. Set dies in various machines as needed including progressive, transfer and secondary presses, measure shut height and adjust ram. Load and unload coils of steel and blanks that are used in the process. Operate crane and forklift as needed. Maintain set-up sheet as required. Verify dimensional integrity of product visually, using micrometers, calipers and gauges. Assist Tool & Die and Maintenance in doing repairs to tooling and machinery as needed. This includes monitoring tools and equipment for wear. Perform minor repairs and adjustments as needed. Record all production data needed for inventory control purposes, including good parts, scrap parts and any other data necessary. List any downtime, die changes, equipment failure. Practice proper lockout/tagout procedures. Train new operators as needed. Operates other machinery and equipment as needed. Maintains a clean and safe working area. Perform various visual and/or manual activities to inspect or verify the accuracy of a part. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Various other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Licensure

Hi-Lo Certification preferred

Crane Certification preferred

Ability to follow established procedures Strong attention to detail Knowledge and understanding of press controls-parameters and control limits Advanced Crane and Material Handling skills Feeder and straightener basics Problem solving Mechanical aptitude Knowledge of AITF16949 quality standards Manual dexterity sufficient to assembly, pack, and/or grip and operate equipment Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees Computer literacy skills include the ability to perform basic data entry and to operate visual ‘touch screen’ display panels. Math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks are required. Ability to work effectively with people

The job requires very frequent visual effort and concentration, and the ability to move throughout the plant. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The work requires regular standing, walking, bending, lifting and a variety of physical activities.
