Job summary

Seaman Paper in Leominster, MA, seeks a detail-oriented Press Operator to join the Gardner manufacturing team. You will set up, operate, and maintain moderately complex printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials, following job specifications and production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate printing presses per job specs and schedules.
  • Coordinate materials, plates, inks, and anilox rolls.
  • Monitor print quality: viscosity, registration, color accuracy.
  • Document production records and data entry.
  • Perform routine maintenance and clean-up of presses.
  • Communicate with supervisors and teams to resolve issues.
  • Maintain OSHA and PPE compliance.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-minded Press Operator to join our manufacturing team in Gardner, MA. In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain moderately complex printing presses to ensure the efficient production of high-quality printed materials. The ideal candidate will have experience in print manufacturing, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Press Setup & Operation: Independently set up and operate printing presses according to job specifications and production schedules. Perform job changeovers efficiently.
  • Material Coordination: Ensure all raw materials, plates, inks, and anilox rolls are ready prior to each print job.
  • Quality Control: Monitor print jobs continuously for quality and consistency, including checking ink viscosity, registration, color accuracy, and overall print clarity.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete all required production and quality records, including job sheets and data entry into the system.
  • Maintenance & Clean-Up: Perform routine maintenance on press equipment. Clean the press and return all components and tools to their proper locations at the end of each job.
  • Team Communication: Collaborate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other departments to ensure smooth production flow and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Comply with all OSHA and company safety standards and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret job specifications, instructions, and production orders
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to differentiate colors accurately
  • Physically able to lift, move, and maneuver materials, including bending, twisting, turning, and working in confined spaces as needed
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with continuous noise and machinery
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and recordkeeping
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience :

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a print manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with printing press equipment and standard press operations
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with press troubleshooting and maintenance

Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the United States.
