Job summary

Thai Summit America in Bardstown, KY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep presses and heavy equipment in top condition, perform emergency repairs, and install or modify production machinery.

You will read blueprints, troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conduct preventive maintenance, and mentor trainees while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining, rebuilding, or repairing mechanical presses or heavy industrial machinery.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Comfortable working with oils, grease, solvents, and in confined spaces.

  • Troubleshoot fluid power systems to identify issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Read and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and work instructions.

Job description

Primary Job Function

Maintain Machine/Equipment in top working conditions to minimize and eliminate downtime. Perform emergency repair of machine/equipment during production. Perform installation, removal or modification of production machine/equipment. Accomplish any and all work assignments as directed by management.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Disassemble and reassemble metal forming presses for scheduled maintenance and rebuild projects.
  • Perform rigging, scraping, grinding, fitting, and machine alignment using hand and power tools.
  • Install and maintain lubrication blocks, lines, and plumbing for hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshoot fluid power systems to identify issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Assemble and rebuild equipment to OEM and customer specifications using standard procedures.
  • Prepare components for assembly, ensuring they are clean, deburred, and free of defects.
  • Use hand and power tools including various types of welders, torque wrenches, impacts, magnetic drills, and hydraulic jacks.
  • May require experience with or certification on equipment like mills, lathes (for small part polishing and key making), forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment.
  • Read and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Understand and apply basic mechanical and fluid system principles during maintenance work.
  • Perform in-process and post-repair inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) on machine/equipment.
  • Perform work on new machine/equipment.
  • Provide support in supplying quality parts for customers.
  • Work on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with Production Engineering.
  • Work with Quality Assurance.
  • Work with Production.
  • Required paperwork to be filled out and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Training on new types of equipment used for production and maintaining equipment.
  • Training of production, maintenance and engineering associates on equipment.
  • Training and mentoring of Maintenance Trainees on maintenance department and processes.
Qualifications
  • Experience maintaining, rebuilding, or repairing mechanical presses or heavy industrial machinery.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools used in press maintenance.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Comfortable working with oils, grease, solvents, and in confined spaces.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to quality and safety.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 – 5 years’ manufacturing experience with full range of operations, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and machine maintenance.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical principles, systems, troubleshooting and repair: robotics, PLC and assisted automation, mechanical handling systems, maintenance and repair.
