Description

The Press Line Operator is responsible for operating a press and maintaining equipment, maintaining a daily production log, inspecting the products that are created before they are shipped to customers, and ensuring that those products meet quality specifications.

Job Summary
Essential Functions
  • Ensures that the mold installed on the press is the correct mold to manufacture your assigned product.
  • Verifies the mold and checks the setup check sheet placed on the overhead of the press.
  • Prior to loading the press with crumb rubber, refers to the setup sheet and verifies the crumb rubber formulation and weight required for the assigned product.
  • Manually loads the crumb rubber with a bucket filled with pre‑mixed material throughout the bottom cavity of the press and spreads evenly.
  • Removes the finished product from the mold with a pry bar and places it on the worktable.
  • Trims and palletizes finished product to be sent out to the shipping department.
  • Completes daily log of production produced per press.

  • Consistently abides by established safety rules, procedures, and regulations including wearing required safety equipment such as safety shoes and glasses.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Identifies and reports quality or safety issues to supervisor or manager.
  • Works effectively with co‑workers and supervisors, sharing knowledge, resources, and experience to achieve production goals in a timely fashion, while promoting respect, communication, and teamwork.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Basic math skills: The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and measurements accurately and efficiently, using arithmetic and geometry principles as needed.
  • Attention to safety: The ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines when using equipment is important to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Follow directions: The ability to follow established procedures while performing tasks, using tools, and handling materials. Carefully consider and follow instructions to complete tasks and deliver required results.
  • Dependability: Reliability and consistency of attendance, punctuality, and completion of assigned tasks according to established standards and expectations with little supervision.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • A high school diploma/GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least one year of previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Vision: The vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Endurance: The employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time and perform physical tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Exposure to elements: The employee will be working in a warehouse environment and may be exposed to varying temperatures and inclement weather conditions. There will also be frequent exposure to dirt, dust and other substances commonly used in the production of rubber materials.
  • Noise level: The employee will be exposed to moderate noise levels in the workplace for the majority of the day, due to the constant use of forklift and hand‑held power tools.
