This senior position includes guiding lower‑level operators and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The candidate will handle advanced setup, troubleshooting, and collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and QA to meet production goals while upholding safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience with press line or similar equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safety standards.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment and process issues.
• Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor Press Line equipment at advanced proficiency.
• Perform advanced setup, changeovers, and calibrations to meet schedules.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and process issues with maintenance coordination.
• Lead QA to ensure specifications and regulatory compliance.
• Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Train and mentor lower-level operators on procedures, safety, and best practices.
• Review production docs and ensure logs and batch records are accurate.
• Enforce safety policies and participate in audits and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supervision on new products and upgrades.
• Serve as acting lead or backup supervisor when assigned.

You will be based in our Kinston, NC location. The shift is Monday through Friday starting at 6:00 am and end at 2:00 pm. This role supports the production line and will follow production's needs.

Summary

The Press Line Operator – Level 5 is a senior-level production role responsible for operating, monitoring, and optimizing Press Line manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output. This role serves as a subject matter expert on Press Line operations, provides guidance to lower-level operators, leads advanced troubleshooting efforts, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

Your main tasks

• Operate and monitor automated and semi-automated Press Line equipment at advanced proficiency levels.
• Perform advanced machine setup, changeovers, and calibrations to meet production schedules and specifications.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues; coordinate with maintenance as needed.
• Lead quality assurance efforts by ensuring products meet all specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer standards.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
• Train, coach, and mentor Press Line Operators Levels 1–4 on procedures, safety, and best practices.
• Review production documentation and ensure accurate completion of logs, batch records, and inspection reports.
• Enforce safety policies and participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supervision teams on new products, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
• Serve as acting lead or backup supervisor when assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience, with significant experience operating Press Line or similar production equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safety standards.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment and process issues.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Basic computer skills (production systems, data entry, email).
• Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training.
• Forklift or industrial equipment certification.

Physical Demands

• Should be able to team lift any package greater than 25 lbs.
• Should be able to handle repetitive twisting, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, and bending
• Must be able to spend long periods of time on your feet
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and temperature variations.
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for equipment operation and inspections.
