Job summary

MCC is seeking an Imaging Operator in Knoxville to set up and operate imaging equipment ensuring high-quality digital imaging per job specs and customer requirements.

You will monitor image quality, handle imaging materials, and input production data in the Radius system, while following safety rules and supporting continuous improvements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Print shop or imaging experience helpful but not required.
  • Ability to communicate well (verbal and written) and be a team player.
  • Ability to read and understand a job ticket.
  • Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (pass ruler test).
  • Ability to pass eye test (20/20).
  • Ability to differentiate colors (color test).
  • Ability to input data into computer.
  • Ability to work in a team with urgency for on-time completion.
  • Self-motivated with focus and instruction-following.
  • Ability to stand and move around imaging area for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Assertive and solution-focused.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor image quality and accuracy; remove defective material and re-image per specifications.
  • Use ruler, safety knife, and other tools during imaging and finishing tasks as needed.
  • Handle and palletize imaged rolls or materials without damage.
  • Understand basic imaging and quality-related defects.
  • Record and enter production data accurately in the Radius system.
  • Assist with make-ready procedures: prepare imaging equipment, substrates, and materials per Job Ticket and Product Specification.
  • Perform in-process quality checks (image clarity, alignment, data accuracy, overall quality).
  • Support efficient changeovers, including equipment cleaning and setup planning.
  • Clean imaging equipment, plates, and workstations; perform routine lubrication.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area through daily housekeeping and 6S practices.
  • Follow plant and corporate safety rules; report concerns to supervisor.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects.
  • Act as backup support during operator absences or downtime.
  • Communicate job status, issues, and updates to team and supervisor.
  • Practice Lean Manufacturing principles and sustain 6S standards.
  • Meet attendance, production, and quality standards; comply with MCC policies.

We are currently looking for an Imaging Operator to join our team. The Imaging Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of imaging equipment to ensure accurate, high-quality digital imaging in accordance with job specifications and customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Practice Lean Manufacturing principles and sustain 6S standards.
  • Meet attendance, production, and quality standards; comply with all MCC policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Print shop or imaging experience helpful, but not required
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and written form); seen as a team player
  • Ability to read and understand a job ticket
  • Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)
  • Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)
  • Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)
  • Ability to input data in the computer
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions
  • Ability to stand and move around press/imaging area for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

The physical demands require standing, using hands to finger, feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
