Job summary

Eaton is hiring a Press Brake Operator for the Weekend Shift in Fayetteville, NC. The position offers an hourly rate of $20.53 plus a 11.12% shift differential per hour and requires adherence to core hours (Friday to Sunday, 6am–6pm). Overtime may be required as needed.

You will operate various fabrication equipment, read blueprints, and help move materials within a climate controlled environment while contributing to production goals and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Must have one year machine operation experience; preferably press brake.
• Eaton will not sponsor CPT/OPT or similar programs.
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of Fayetteville, NC; active-duty military are exempt from location restriction.

Responsibilities

• Follow supervisor instructions and uses prints and manufacturing sheets.
• Write requisitions and obtain materials from stock with Kan Ban attendants.
• Operate fabrication equipment (FMS, press brake, shear, punch, bender, nibbler) to fabricate bus connectors, risers, taps and mains.
• Fabricate/modify and assemble braces, spacers, barriers, and supports for copper or aluminum as required.
• Move materials using electric trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes as needed.
• Set up and operate nibbler/punch press to modify doors/covers and add holes.
• Deburr and finish pieces with hand tools as required.

CORE HOURS: FRIDAY - SUNDAY (6AM - 6PM). Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

What You’ll Do

• Work from oral and/or written instructions coming from supervisors and/or prints, sketches and manufacturing information sheets.
• Utilize manufacturing information sheets, determine necessary parts, write requisitions and work with Kan Ban attendant to obtain materials from stock areas.
• Operate fabricating equipment such as FMS, press brake, shear, punch, bender, and nibbler to make or modify all types of bus connectors, risers, taps, and mains
• Fabricate and/or modify and assemble braces, spacers, barriers, and supports for copper or aluminum as required.
• Utilize electric trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, ergo lifts and cranes to move material and product as required
• Assemble, tape, or sleeve if required or necessary.
• Set up and operate nibbler/punch press to modify or add cutouts and holes to doors, covers, etc.
• Use hand tools to deburr and finish pieces as required

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications

• Must have a High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Must have one year machine operation experience; preferably press brake

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in Press Brake machine operation
• Previous experience using precision measuring equipment e.g calipers, micrometers, and protractors
• Previous experience with reading blueprints

Skills

• Must be able to understand and read blueprints.
• Have sufficient knowledge of the operation of machines required to fabricate metal parts with an ability to make sketches of bus bar assemblies as needed from the actual assemblies on the floor.
• Ability to interface with personal workstation computer to pull blueprints, review job orders in DMM system, comp in/out completed orders in DMM
• Ability to work and operate multiple workstations in workflow cell, e.g. include but not limited to: FMS/FINN, Press brake and spot welders to meet expected takt time or daily demand rate of work cell
