Job summary

SendCutSend Inc is seeking a hands-on CNC Machine Operator to set up, operate, and monitor CNC fiber laser and CNC press brake equipment, producing precision-cut sheet metal parts. You will read 2D/3D drawings, verify programs and tooling, and perform routine machine startup and maintenance.

Collaborating with team leads, you will meet daily production goals, ensure quality and safety on the shop floor, and maintain LEAN/5S standards while assisting with material handling and tooling inventory.

Qualifications

• English literacy and clear communication on the shop floor.
• Ability to read production drawings and pass/verify specs.
• Experience with CNC systems, controls, and basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

Description

As a CNC Machine Operator, you will operate and support CNC fiber laser and CNC press brake equipment to produce precision-cut and formed sheet metal parts. This is a hands-on role focused on machine setup, operation, inspection, and material handling. You will work closely with team leads, supervisors, and department managers to ensure jobs are completed accurately, efficiently, and to customer specifications.

What you’ll do

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC fiber lasers and CNC press brakes
• Load material and unload finished parts from machines
• Verify correct programs, tooling, and material prior to running jobs
• Perform machine startup, shutdown, and routine daily maintenance
• Install and set up punches, dies, and job tooling as required
• Read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings for proper laser and brake setup
• Measure parts using gauges and inspection tools to verify angles, dimensions, and overall accuracy meet customer specifications
• Collaborate with team leads and supervisors to meet daily production goals and communicate issues or quality concerns as they arise
• Maintain a clean, organized work area in alignment with LEAN and 5S principles
• Assist with inventory of tooling such as punches and dies
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Basic knowledge of CNC systems and machine controls
• Ability to read production drawings and flat patterns
• Ability to use measuring devices and basic hand tools
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to follow work instructions and safety procedures
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC fiber lasers or CNC press brakes
• Experience with Amada equipment
• Forklift experience
• Prior work in a sheet metal or fabrication environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to repeatedly lift 25 lbs and lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand and walk for 10 to 12 hour shifts
• Ability to bend, reach, and work around large industrial equipment

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and production floor environment
• Work performed around CNC lasers, press brakes, and material handling equipment
• Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and metal materials
• Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• This position requires working in close proximity to equipment that generates strong electromagnetic fields (EMF). This environment may pose a risk to individuals with cardiac pacemakers, ICDs, or other implantable medical devices.
