Description

Starting Pay Rate: $17.00 - $25.00/hour (Day shift)


Primary Job Function


Performs a variety of press brake operations usually on steel, aluminum or stainless-steel plate.


Note: This position is for 5 hours/day, Monday-Friday. Shift can start as early as 6am and end as late as 3pm.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  • Selects multi-purpose and general-purpose brake dies and punches.

  • Sets dies and punches, stops and adjust ram for varying plate thickness.

  • Plans sequence of multiple pass operations for series of bends and other fabricating operations on complicated sections, making all allowances for parts fitting together at welding and convenience in assembly, as required.

  • Perform periodic preventive maintenance

  • May instruct and direct less experienced operators

  • Follows established safety protocols including required usage of PPE; helps to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Keeps work area clean and organized

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Experience


Minimum skills, knowledge, education, certifications and related job experience that employee typically must have to perform essential functions of the job acceptably.



  • Ability to develop press brake setups, bend sequencing and assign tooling for new or revised products.

  • Basic math and measurement skills

  • Strong blueprint reading skills

  • Ability to identify different types of materials

  • Ability to read measuring tools

  • Skilled usage of:

    • Pliers; crescent wrench

    • Calculators

    • Calipers

    • Protractors

    • Allen wrenches

    • Level

    • Drill

    • Square



  • Strong attention to detail

  • Dependability; honesty & integrity; a positive, proactive attitude; ability to use time productively, working with minimal supervision both individually and as part of a team.

  • Ability to work overtime as required
