Overview
Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing-North is currently seeking a Press Brake Operator to join our team. As a Press Brake Operator, you will be responsible for operating a press brake machine to bend, form, and shape metal materials according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and quality specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced metal manufacturing environment.

Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing has specialized in medium- to high-volume contract metal stamping, progressive die stamping, and CNC machining since 1970.
Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing specializes in both deep-draw and progressive die stamping. We are equipped with man servo, high-speed, mechanical, and hydraulic stamping presses ranging from 30 to 400 tons. Our machines are optimized for automation with in-die contact and non-contact sensors. We are also experts in secondary put-and-take operations for parts that cannot be completed in a progressive die. Additionally, we have multiple 5-axis Emmegi XT extrusion milling centers with a bed capacity of 30 feet, plus turrets, lasers, and more.

Position Overview
- Operation: operate press brake machines to produce parts with required angles, radii, and dimensions.
- Setup: Select, install, and adjust the appropriate tooling (punches, dies) for each job. Calculate bend allowances, set stop gauges, and adjust machine controls to ensure accurate bending.
- Reading Prints: Interpret complex engineering blueprints, process sheets, and work orders to determine material requirements, proper machine settings, and fabrication sequence.
- Quality Control: Inspect parts during and after the bending process using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, protractors, squares, tape measures, and micrometers to ensure conformity to specifications and tight tolerances.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and correct machine malfunctions, tooling issues, or material flaws to maintain production efficiency and quality.
- Material Handling: Load and unload material (typically sheet metal or plate) onto the press brake, often using overhead cranes, jibs, or material handling equipment.
- Maintenance: Perform routine and preventative maintenance checks on the press brake machine and tooling, and report any necessary repairs to maintenance personnel.
- Safety: Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Documentation: Complete required production documentation, quality logs, and time sheets accurately and timely.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with supervisors, quality control, and other operators regarding production schedules, quality issues, and machine maintenance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating and setting up CNC Press Brake machines in a metal manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
- Familiarity with fabrication tools and equipment.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- This role is based in the State of New York which requires the disclosure of salary ranges. The expected salary range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00 per hour. Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing provides salary ranges as a good faith estimate of what the company reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of posting. Compensation offered to a selected candidate may vary based on factors such as (but not limited to) a candidate's job-related qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location. The expected salary range for this position is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
