Job Description
The Press Brake Setter/Operator will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks of setting up and operating press brake machinery to shape and form metal components. This includes reading and interpreting blueprints, adjusting machine settings, and ensuring accurate and precise bending of metal materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain all production die and tooling inventories for press brakes and stamping presses.
- Install, set, and adjust dies and tooling for press brakes and stamping presses.
- Ensure all buttons and punches remain sharpened, maintained, and readily available for production.
- Coordinate with production and scheduling for setup, changeover, and maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate with maintenance for related responsibilities.
- Load equipment with raw material using a forklift and manual lifting to prepare for accurate cuts or bends.
- Fabricate parts based on drawings, designs, or samples, recommending design changes when necessary.
- Measure material before and after cutting to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance as needed.
- Study specifications, visualize products, compute dimensions, and plan layout and assembly operations.
- Coordinate efforts with team members to meet timelines.
- Finalize machining processes and approve for production.
- Complete duties following safety policies and practices, ensuring safety for oneself and others.
- Wear approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, and glasses.
- Perform activities including pulling, lifting, twisting, and working in confined spaces or on elevated platforms.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience setting dies and tooling for press brakes.
- At least 5 years of experience maintaining die and tooling inventories.
- Knowledge of metalworking and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Attention to detail and precision in bending metal components.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas industries, Energy, Power Sector, or Heavy Engineering Projects is a plus.
- Relevant certifications or training in press brake operations.
