Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Press Assistant in Greensboro, NC to support a team of press operators on a multicolor flexographic press. You will assist in setup, repair, operation, and routine maintenance to maintain production quality and a safe, organized press area.

This hands-on role provides exposure to press equipment and supports overall printing operations, with potential overtime during busy periods and close collaboration with maintenance and other departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance instructions.
• Basic arithmetic and reading tests may be required.
• Color vision and mechanical aptitude tests may be administered.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to overtime during busy periods.
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, maintain, and operate a flexographic press in the absence of the operator.
• Review job tickets and select correct material types and quantities.
• Assist in material changeovers and ensure proper materials are staged for production.
• Clean, lubricate, and make minor adjustments to support production quality.
• Notify supervision of required repairs or replacement parts.
• Move printed and unprinted stock as necessary.
• Perform and review line clearance and collaborate with maintenance on projects.
