Qualifications

• Understanding of zip codes and barcode sorting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines.
• Some computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Reject mail (invalid, foreign, overweight) and place in designated trays.
• Watch for blockages or stoppages in mail processing.
• Ensure sort bins are emptied so sorting continues without jams.
• Ensure mail in trays is facing the labeled end and properly oriented.
• Tag trays correctly according to destination and sort instructions.
• Review missorted mail for readability and proper handling.
• Inform technicians/supervisors of malfunctions or machine changes.
• Process mail per USPS and company standards to maximize quality.
• Troubleshoot jams and assist with minor maintenance issues.
• Monitor for suspicious parcels and alert supervisor.
• Maintain neat and clean work area.
