United Business Mail Inc in Itasca, IL is hiring a Mail Handler/Sweeper to efficiently remove mail from the sorting machine and place it into designated trays. The role requires accuracy, the ability to lift 20–40 pounds, and a commitment to a clean, safe workplace in a fast-paced environment.

Two shifts are offered: 1st shift 6:00 AM–4:15 PM and 2nd shift 4:45 PM–3:00 AM, Monday through Friday with Saturdays as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in mailing, manufacturing or warehouse environments preferred.
• Previous shift work experience in a fast-paced environment required.
• Ability to identify numbers and accurately match numerical codes.
• Must be able to frequently lift mail trays weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Stand, walk, bend, reach and twist throughout shift.
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Removes mail from the sorting machine and places it into trays with high accuracy using a code.
• Ensure machine-bin and rack-tray numbers match when handling mail.
• Ensure mail is oriented correctly with address facing the front of the tray.
• Monitor LDU bin display to identify and clear jams as needed.
• Move full trays weighing 20-40 pounds to the conveyor.
• Transfer mail from large trays into smaller trays as directed by the operator.
• Replace full trays with empty ones and insert tags in tray pockets.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
