Job Description

The Catering Services Manager is a leadership position overseeing all aspects of catering solutions and special events at the location. This role leads the Catering team to execute events and catering requests aligned with customer expectations and service standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage catering for high-profile university events, ensuring excellence in presentation, service, and hospitality.
  • Collaborate with the Office of the President, Advancement, and Event Services for seamless event coordination.
  • Lead menu planning, working directly with chefs and vendors to create elevated culinary experiences.
  • Supervise and train catering staff to ensure premium service delivery.
  • Maintain high standards for food safety, presentation, and professionalism.
  • Anticipate and respond to the unique needs of dignitaries, board members, donors, and distinguished guests.
  • Develop and implement catering solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain effective client and customer relationships.
  • Ensure consistent quality in event planning and execution.
  • Coordinate the delivery of prepared food and setup based on banquet event orders.
  • Assist clients in planning special events and providing creative solutions.
  • Train and lead catering employees to uphold standards and quality.
  • Provide Banquet Event Orders and ensure all requests are met prior to events.
  • Manage food and labor targets, and oversee catering events of various sizes and scopes.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of catering revenue, expenses, and receivables.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and develop team members.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, occupational, and environmental policies.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership experience managing teams.
  • Experience leading VIP events, high-profile catering, and hospitality.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Availability to work event-based hours.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications as required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to remain composed and detail-oriented under pressure.
