As President of MDMC you will develop a sound business plan for the hospital including the development of programs, facilities, operating efficiencies and physician resources designed to achieve annual and long-term growth strategies while working closely with hospital operations staff to evaluate service lines and make necessary changes to improve quality, service and financial performance. You will lead in the effective building of a team of competent employees whose performance achieves planned results. As the President of MDMC, you will be responsible for building a strong and effective working relationship with the clinical medical staff and community staff as well as participate in the development of an ongoing facilities capital improvement program. The President of MDMC reports to the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer (EVP & COO) of MHS on the operational performance of the hospital and the implementation of plans for achieving short and long-range objectives. **Your Job Requirements:**• An advanced degree in healthcare is required (i.e. MHA, MS, MA). • 5+ years related work experience as a senior leader within a hospital and/or health system. • Demonstrated track record as a leader in a hospital and/or health system with a track record of improving the organization's overall performance. • Demonstrated track record in being able to enhance internal and external relationships, service, quality, operational and financial performance and the overall culture of an organization • Demonstrated experience providing effective leadership in a competitive market.• Demonstrated success in aligning various stakeholders’ needs and expectations and leading through a style of negotiation to that results in “win – win solutions.”• Demonstrated experience in thinking “out of the box” and improving performance and creating opportunities.**Your Job Responsibilities:**• Participate in a lead role in the recruitment of physicians to the medical staff and other key leadership positions for MDMC. • Participate in a lead role in various community organizations and activities.• Lead the efforts of evaluation of ambulatory services, such as an ASC, and determine whether to implement. If the ASC is implemented, lead the effort to fully integrate into existing project. • Continually evaluate the competitive market and specifically the efforts of competing hospitals. • Develop effective and efficient work flow and patient flow processes for all hospital departments.• Develop a plan to establish a culture of clinical service and operational excellence. • Develop effective working relationships with MHS senior management, physician leadership and physicians. • Work with MHS Finance to understand financial projections and budget for the facility in order to appropriately implement financial procedures at MDMC. • Work with MHS Nursing and Quality departments to ensure appropriate implementation of quality procedures at MDMC. • Work with MHS Planning and Marketing to ensure understanding of facility and service area projections and the specific marketing campaign efforts for MDMC.**Additional Duties:**• Communicate and reinforce a vision for MDMC that is consistent with MHS’ mission and emphasizes distinguished quality, customer service, safety, operational excellence, innovation and financial performance.• Develop a sound business plan for the hospital including the development of programs, facilities, operating efficiencies and physician resources designed to achieve annual and long-term growth strategies.• Work closely with hospital operations staff to evaluate service lines and make necessary changes to improve quality, service and financial performance. • Lead in the effective building of a team of competent employees whose performance achieves planned results. • Effectively recruit, select, and train personnel and assign work in an orderly, organized and efficient manner. Monitor results closely, with a constant emphasis on incremental improvement. Replace non-performing managers, maintaining a lean organizational structure and emphasize, simultaneously, customer satisfaction and financial performance.• Build a strong and effective working relationship with the clinical medical staff and community staff.• Participate in the development of an ongoing facilities capital improvement program.• Communicate openly and effectively internally and externally with a wide variety of individuals to ensure that their needs are being met and the reputation of the hospital is enhanced.• Report to the EVP & COO and other senior executives on the operational performance of the hospital and the implementation of plans for achieving short and long-range objectives.**Other Considerations:**• The successful candidate will be an intelligent, intuitive, thoughtful, and analytical leader with an open style and a readiness to accept new ideas.• An appropriately assertive individual with a strong and healthy sense of character and ego and the maturity that allows him/her to build effective relationships.• The successful candidate will have a high degree of personal integrity and ethical standards which are clearly demonstrated in his/her communication and behavior.
