Job description

President, Claims Administration (Third-Party Administrator)
President, Claims Administration (Third-Party Administrator)

Ryze Claim Solutions is seeking a seasoned and strategic President to lead a small, specialized Third-Party Administrator (TPA) with a national footprint and multi-line claims handling portfolio. This executive will be responsible for the overall leadership, profitability, and operational execution of the TPA. The President will establish the strategic vision for claims performance, drive excellence in service delivery, and build strong relationships with carriers, MGAs, reinsurers, and clients across specialized lines including construction defect, construction casualty, property, commercial auto, contingency, assisted living/nursing home exposures, and sport shooting programs.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited for a senior executive with deep technical expertise, claims strategy leadership, and experience scaling teams in a high-complexity, multi-venue litigation environment. The President will be directly accountable for driving financial performance, operational consistency, and sustainable client growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executive Leadership & Strategy: Lead the TPA’s day-to-day operations and long-term growth strategy. Set the tone for a high-performing, compliant, and client-focused organization.
  • Claims Oversight: Develop and implement robust claims handling strategies across a broad portfolio—excluding Workers' Compensation—with emphasis on high-exposure, litigated and non-litigated claims involving construction, casualty, contingency, and emerging risk programs.
  • Direct Handling & Complex Exposure: Personally oversee select high-exposure or high-impact claims, including those with complex litigation, coverage disputes, or direct actions.
  • Team Development & Supervision: Manage and mentor a team of claims examiners and supervisors. Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management to ensure technical competency and consistency.
  • Best Practices & Compliance: Establish and uphold best-in-class claims handling procedures, documentation standards, and internal compliance protocols across all lines.
  • Client & Market Engagement: Serve as the executive point of contact for carriers, MGAs, brokers, agents, reinsurers, and policyholders. Lead program reviews, audits, and high-level client communications.
  • Audit & Quality Management: Coordinate reinsurer, client, and account-driven file reviews and program audits. Ensure audit readiness and consistent documentation across jurisdictions.
  • Financial Performance & Reporting: Monitor claim costs, reserve accuracy, and leakage control. Deliver clear, actionable reports to the CEO and/or Board of Directors on claims trends, risk exposure, operational performance, and strategic opportunities.
  • Innovation & Scalability: Identify technology, process, and talent investments needed to scale operations, improve profitability, and deliver superior service outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree, JD, or industry certifications (e.g., CPCU, AIC) strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of multi-line claims experience with progressive leadership responsibilities; 5+ years in a senior executive or President/COO role within a TPA or carrier environment.
  • Extensive experience managing complex litigation, multi-venue claims, and direct supervision of high-exposure files.
  • Deep understanding of construction defect, casualty, commercial auto, property, and contingency claims handling practices.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performance claims teams in a dynamic, client-driven environment.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing claim costs, reserves, and delivering KPI-driven operational reporting to executives or boards.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with clients, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders.
