Job Description
President & CEO, New England Village

Kittleman and Associates - Pembroke, MA, United States

Posted: 6/3/25

With multiple locations, modern facilities, and a specialized team of highly skilled and dedicated human service professionals, New England Village (NEV) serves more than 150 individuals with IDD, including Autism and Down Syndrome, and sensory disabilities such as hearing and vision impairment. NEV provides a variety of innovative programs and customized supports.

In collaboration with New England Village’s Board of Directors and experienced senior management team, the President & CEO will provide energetic and empathetic leadership, guiding the organization confidently into its next chapter by generating broad support for a shared strategic vision. Leading by example, they will shape an organizational culture that appropriately reflects commonly shared values and commitments. The President & CEO will be fluent in day-to-day operations, both on the residential side and with respect to day programming, while maintaining an external focus. This leader will be actively involved with program development and improvement, quality assurance, preparations for licensing and accreditation, and infrastructure maintenance and enhancement, all while paying close attention to the ever-evolving regulatory climate. The President & CEO will be an adept coalition-builder, working closely with state agencies, support organizations, service providers, funders, and an engaged Board of Directors to create the conditions within which the organization is well-positioned to pursue its mission.

As the public face of NEV, they will be responsible for networking, interfacing with government officials and trade associations, and both short and long-term fundraising, the latter being to increase the size of NEV’s endowment. NEV has been significantly affected by the workforce challenges experienced by direct service providers across the nation. The President & CEO will work with the Board and senior management to ensure that NEV can attract and retain dedicated and competent staff at all levels within the organization.

The President and CEO oversees four direct reports including the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Vice President for Communications and Development, and Vice President of Human Resources. NEV has approximately 250 employees, including a cohort of relief staff. New England Village is governed by an active 12-15-member Board of Directors. Board members are attentive to NEV’s programs and environment, though they are not involved in the day-to-day operational management of the organization.
For FY2025, New England Village’s budgeted revenue is approximately $18 million, with 83% of revenue coming from state program fees and 17% coming from private program fees. Its endowment, established in the 1970s, now totals approximately $34 million.

The salary range for this position is $180,000-$240,000 in addition to a competitive benefits package.
