About the Opportunity

Grid Structures is seeking an experienced President to lead the next phase of growth of our utility infrastructure manufacturing business.

Based in Amite, Louisiana, Grid Structures serves the transmission, distribution, substation, renewable energy, and related infrastructure markets. We are building the organization, manufacturing capabilities, and leadership team necessary to significantly scale the business, with a long-term objective of exceeding $200 million in annual revenue and expanding into multiple manufacturing locations.

We are looking for a proven operating executive who has successfully led manufacturing operations, managed P&L performance, developed leadership teams, improved profitability, and scaled an organization through significant growth.

This is not an engineering leadership position. It is a business and operating leadership role.

  • Lead the overall performance, growth, and profitability of Grid Structures.
  • Maintain full accountability for revenue, gross profit, EBITDA, cash flow, working capital, and operational results.
  • Develop and execute annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts, and long-term growth initiatives.

  • Ensure alignment between sales commitments, engineering, project execution, manufacturing capacity, and customer delivery requirements.
  • Support expansion into new customers, markets, products, and geographic regions.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing management team.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, performance expectations, and accountability across the organization.
  • Develop future leaders and establish succession plans for critical positions.
  • Create an organization capable of operating effectively as the company increases in size and complexity.

  • Develop an operating model capable of supporting multiple manufacturing locations.
  • Support the long-term development of Grid Structures into a leading national utility infrastructure manufacturing platform.
Required Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive experience within manufacturing, steel fabrication, utility infrastructure, construction products, industrial manufacturing, or a closely related industry.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience with increasing responsibility for business and operational performance.
  • Demonstrated P&L responsibility for a significant manufacturing or construction-related business or business unit.
  • Direct experience leading manufacturing operations with accountability for production, labor, scheduling, safety, quality, delivery, and profitability.
  • Proven ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing management teams.
  • Demonstrated track record of improving operational performance and successfully scaling a business or manufacturing operation.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of manufacturing economics, working capital, capital investment, and profitability.
  • Ability and willingness to work full-time from Grid Structures' operations in Amite, Louisiana.
Preferred Experience

Direct industry experience is strongly preferred in one or more of the following areas:

  • Utility structures
  • Transmission and distribution infrastructure
  • Substation structures
  • Pole or monopole manufacturing
  • Structural steel fabrication
  • Engineered-to-order manufacturing
  • Heavy industrial manufacturing
  • Infrastructure-related manufacturing or construction products

Experience leading multiple manufacturing facilities or geographically dispersed operations is also strongly preferred.

Candidate Profile
  • A proven operating executive rather than primarily a technical specialist.
  • A hands-on leader with strong manufacturing credibility.
  • Financially disciplined and focused on profitable growth.
  • Comfortable making difficult decisions and holding leaders accountable for results.
  • Experienced in building systems, teams, and organizational structure as a business scales.
  • Strategic enough to plan for future growth while remaining closely engaged in day-to-day execution.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-growing and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Equally effective on the manufacturing floor, with customers, and at the executive level.
Important Experience Requirement

This position requires significant manufacturing and operating leadership experience.

Candidates whose careers have been primarily focused on engineering, design engineering, project engineering, consulting, technical advisory, or professional services without substantial manufacturing leadership and P&L responsibility will not be considered.

An engineering background is not a disqualification; however, engineering experience alone does not meet the requirements of this position.

Compensation

Grid Structures offers a competitive executive compensation package, including:

  • Competitive executive base salary
  • Performance-based annual incentive
  • Long-term incentive opportunity
  • Executive benefits package
Why Grid Structures

This is an opportunity to take leadership responsibility for an established and growing manufacturing business at an important point in its development.

The next President will inherit an operating platform with significant growth opportunity and will have the responsibility and authority to build the leadership team, operating systems, manufacturing capabilities, and organizational structure required for the next stage of growth.

  • The objective is not simply to manage the business as it exists today. We are looking for an experienced operator capable of helping build Grid Structures into a $200M+ multi-location utility infrastructure manufacturing company.
