Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Authorization review and entry for HCBS authorizations using Virginia-specific criteria
  2. Review of state-specific documents required for HCBS services
  3. Communication with HCBS Providers
  4. Gathering clinical information to assess and expedite care needs
  5. Consulting with the Care Manager and/or Medical Director to troubleshoot complex cases

Required Qualifications:
  • Active RN license in VA
  • 3+ years of RN experience in an acute setting
  • Proficiency in creating, editing, saving, and sending documents in Microsoft Word
  • Ability to navigate Windows, use Microsoft Outlook, and conduct Internet searches
Preferred Qualifications:
  • HCBS authorization experience
  • Utilization management, prior authorization, and case management experience
  • Managed care experience
  • Knowledge of ICUE and CAT Launchpad

The hourly rate ranges from $28.61 to $56.06, depending on full-time employment factors such as location, education, experience, and certifications. UnitedHealth Group complies with all applicable minimum wage laws.
