Job summary

Enterprise, a national nonprofit focused on affordable housing and community development, seeks a Preservation Intern to support its Northern California preservation program.

You will conduct research, assist with data analysis, and help prepare communications and materials while collaborating with public agencies, community groups, and funders. The 5‑month internship begins in September, with potential extension through spring 2027, reporting to the Associate Director.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in progress in city planning, public policy, public administration or other related field preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in city planning, public policy, public administration or other related field required.
• Demonstrated interest in affordable housing and community development, acquisition‑rehab experience desired.
• Knowledge about the Bay Area’s racial, economic and political landscape as it relates to housing and community development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborative support: manage relationships, logistics, agendas, notes, and meeting materials; prepare communications including presentations and briefs.
• Research, writing and data analysis: summarize best practices, programs and policies on housing preservation and building decarbonization; synthesize regulatory impacts.
• Technical assistance: support delivery to public agencies and community-based organizations; assist with meeting logistics and workshop materials.
