Job summary

The Nature Conservancy seeks Burn Crew Members for Kentucky-based prescribed fire work. The role involves ignition, control, mop-up, monitoring, and collaboration with local fire agencies and partners. Housing is provided for non-local employees; pay is hourly and seasonal, with February–April season dates and a focus on professional development and certification growth. Applicants should list preferred locations London, Corbin, Morehead.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain RXCM or FFT2 qualifications, including L-180, S-190, S-130 and related trainings.
• Must meet physical fitness standards.
• Experience operating various equipment.
• Must have valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Participate in prescribed fire operations including ignition, control, mop-up, and monitoring.
• Maintain/uphold burn certifications and stay current on techniques and equipment.
• Build relationships within the fire community and local communities where we work.
• Support Burn Crew Manager and other command positions during field operations.
