Job summary

The Nature Conservancy in Kentucky seeks Burn Crew Members for the seasonal burn program. Responsibilities include ignition, control, mop-up, monitoring, and equipment maintenance under supervision.

Position runs February through April, with housing provided for non-local employees. Applicants should bring a high school diploma and be prepared to obtain RXCM/FFT2 qualifications and necessary safety certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain RXCM or FFT2 qualifications including I-100, L-180, S-190, S-130.
• Must meet physical fitness standards per Fire Management Manual.

Responsibilities

• Assist in prescribed burns and fire line preparation.
• Ignition, control, mop-up, and monitoring of burn operations.
• Maintain equipment and follow Burn Crew Manager or Burn Boss directions.
