Adhere to all ACA/Little Sprouts and Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards teacher qualifications, guidelines, and responsibilities. In addition:

1. Supervise and implement the program/schedule for the class in accordance with the policies of Little Sprouts and Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards.
2. Obtain 24 hours of training each year in accordance with Texas Child Care Licensing.
3. Work with the Director to maintain current and accurate class lists, allergies, special needs, etc.
4. Greet children individually with respect and enthusiasm.
5. Prepare weekly age-appropriate lesson plans and post them in Brightwheel.
6. Be prepared and ready to teach prior to student arrival.
7. Provide weekly communication to families, sent no later than Sunday at 3:30 pm.
8. Ensure students are checked in and out each day.
9. Document each child’s day in Brightwheel, including check-in/out times, potty/diaper changes, feeding, and sleeping times.
10. Attend and participate in chapel and library activities if teaching children older than 18 months.
11. Formally assess students twice per school year and attend parent conferences as needed.
12. Support assistant teachers, including training new teachers and discussing curriculum, schedules, and student concerns with the Director.
13. Keep seasonal books and activities current and accessible to staff.
14. Ensure all resources and toys are returned to their proper places after use.
15. Communicate LS events to parents.
16. Maintain cleanliness of rooms before leaving, including tables, sinks, potties, trash, and floors.
17. Manage child dismissal procedures.
18. If closing, set thermostats to 62°F for heating or 85°F for air conditioning, lock all outside doors, and turn off lights.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Minimum of 3 years experience in a licensed Texas childcare facility
