Salary: Placement on our Certified Salary schedule depends on education and work experience. Certified/licensed employees will receive up to ten (10) years of experience credit for prior teaching or relevant work experience, verified by the employee.

Job Description

Summary/Objective: Provide an enriched learning environment fostering students’ intellectual, emotional, and social development. Facilitate learning, guide students, and work under the supervision of the building principal and department director.

Essential Functions
  • Plan and implement a program tailored to students' individual needs
  • Create a positive, conducive classroom environment
  • Maintain discipline and safety standards
  • Supervise students to ensure health and safety
  • Set clear objectives and communicate them effectively
  • Utilize appropriate instructional methods and materials
  • Assess and report student progress regularly
  • Diagnose learning abilities and seek specialist assistance when needed
  • Communicate regularly with colleagues, students, and parents
  • Implement policies and develop classroom rules
  • Coordinate with instructional assistants and volunteers
  • Participate in staff meetings and committees
  • Employ diverse instructional techniques
  • Respect students’ personal spaces and implement IEP plans
  • Maintain accurate records and be available for student and parent consultations
  • Contribute to curriculum and resource selection
  • Support co-curricular activities and ensure safety measures
  • Report injuries, accidents, and discipline issues promptly
  • Model non-discriminatory practices and support policies
  • Maintain open communication with families
  • Engage in professional development activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned, maintaining confidentiality
Additional Qualifications

Effective communication, classroom management, organizational skills, empathy, and positive relationship building are essential. Ability to follow directions and establish effective working relationships with staff and students is required.

Other Duties

Knowledge of Colorado standards, flexibility, stress tolerance, quick decision-making, and conflict management skills are preferred.
