Base pay range

$17.50/hr - $18.00/hr

Summary

Little Steps, located in Columbia, South Carolina, is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children to learn and grow. We are seeking passionate individuals to join our team as Lead Preschool Teachers for our 3 and 4-year-old classrooms. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of childcare experience and a genuine passion for working with young children. Salary is based on education and experience.

Duties
  • Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote child development in areas such as physical education, math, and language skills
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
  • Foster social, emotional, and cognitive development through positive interactions and guidance
  • Monitor and assess each child's progress and communicate with parents or guardians regularly
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning environment
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom conducive to learning
  • Ensure the well-being and welfare of all children in your care
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with young children in a daycare or preschool setting
  • Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans that meet the individual needs of each child
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to pass a background check
