Job summary

CRYSTALS CUDDLE BUGS CHILDCARE CENTRE seeks a dedicated Teacher to provide developmentally appropriate programming for children from 6 weeks to 11 years. You will supervise children, develop lesson plans, prepare materials, and maintain a safe classroom environment while coordinating with staff and parents.

The role requires adapting curricula to individual needs and managing detailed daily reports, with potential overtime for parent meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or 1–2 years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• CDA credential or Track 2 Certification are also acceptable pathways
• Required certifications: CPR & First Aid (within 90 days of hire) and annual DHS trainings

Responsibilities

• Teach and follow a daily routine while supervising children for safety
• Adapt curriculum to meet individual developmental needs
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities
• Maintain accurate head counts
• Oversee feeding procedures and allergy prevention
• Respond to medical emergencies
• Promote learning through play and hands-on experiences
• Support development across social, emotional, intellectual, and physical domains
• Complete daily reports and communicate with parents
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and meetings
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom and prepare for Fall/Spring sessions
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings
• Serve as a Mandated Reporter
• Plan classroom celebrations and events
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
• Delegate tasks and supervise aides to ensure safety and efficiency
• Monitor classroom supply inventory and staff coverage
