Job summary

Wethersfield Public Schools in Wethersfield, CT, seeks a full-time Preschool Teacher for the SmartStart program at Charles Wright Elementary School. Immediate start; compensation ranges from $57,847 to $114,618 annually.

The teacher will deliver instruction aligned with early childhood standards for ages 3–5, collaborate with special and general educators, maintain confidential files, and engage families in the program.

Qualifications

• Connecticut Early Childhood Certification required.
• Connecticut Special Education Teacher Certification (masters preferred, not required).
• 2-3 years’ experience as a Preschool Teacher.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Knowledge of early childhood development, inclusive practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in preschool program aligned with early childhood standards for students with/without disabilities.
• Collaborate with special and general education staff and families, and other MDT members.
• Develop strategies for diverse needs ages 3–5 and monitor progress with data reports.
• Maintain confidential student files and engage families in the program.
• Supervise paraeducator(s) and participate in professional development.
