West Morris Area YMCA in Randolph, NJ is seeking a Part-Time Preschool Teacher’s Aide Floater. The role supports the lead teacher, supervises children, and helps implement daily plans in line with the curriculum, while ensuring safety, involvement, and creativity in every child.

Typical schedule is Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 12:30 pm with a pay range of $16.50–$17.00 per hour. Candidates should have related experience and be at least 18 years old; on-site work is required and Spanish is

Qualifications

• Experience in preschool or child care settings.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Within 30 days: complete Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, First Aid, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens.

Job Details: Job Location: West Morris Area YMCA - Randolph, NJ, Position Type: Part Time, Salary Range: $16.50 - $17.00Hourly, Hours:Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. A Preschool Teacher’s Aide Floater is responsible for the supervision and supportive management of a classroom. Performs activities that ensure the safety, involvement, and creativity of each individual in the group. Works cooperatively with the lead teacher to discuss and aide in the implementation of daily plans in accordance with the current curriculum. Provides additional classroom coverage and support as needed, assisting both classrooms throughout the day to help maintain consistent care and supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Support Preschool Teacher in all class activities
• Assist with prepping for class projects
• Ensure classroom safety at all times
• Attend all mandatory trainings
• Support with student arrivals and departures
• Facilitate serving meals and snacks
• Must attend all staff meetings
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Flexible schedule; may be required to work full days to cover an absence

• Ability to work on site at the Y
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish (preferred)
