Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Rochester is hiring a Preschool Teacher to plan and implement a values-based early childhood program. Expect to lead activities, supervise staff and volunteers, and maintain safe, engaging classrooms.

Hours include Mon, Wed, Fri 9AM-12PM and/or Tue, Thurs 9AM-12PM with a pay rate of $18/hr and a Free YMCA Membership. CPR/First Aid certification required or obtainable within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and have a degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice for Preschool-aged children.
• Experience leading preschool programs and strong communication skills.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, or ability to obtain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and supervise an age-appropriate, values-based curriculum and daily activities.
• Maintain attendance records and information sheets for each child.
• Coordinate events to involve parents and families.
• Communicate with parents via bulletin boards, newsletters and conferences.
• Prepare supply orders and manage within budget guidelines.
• Ensure facility appearance and safety; supervise staff and volunteers.
• Assist with Annual Campaign and attend required training.
