Job summary

Aberdeen School District No. 5 is seeking a half-time elementary teacher for the current school year. The role requires a valid Washington State teaching certificate with endorsement in Elementary Education and a track record of planning effective instruction for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State teaching certificate with endorsement in Elementary Education.
• Experience teaching elementary grades preferred.
• Spanish language skills preferred.
• Ability to work across inclusionary programs and diverse learners.
• Strong planning and instructional design abilities.
• Effective communication with students, families, staff.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with administrators and staff to develop and implement individualized and meaningful education programs for eligible students.
• Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team to continually assess student needs and evaluate learning progress.
• Schedule and conduct conferences with students, parents, staff and outside agencies.
• Coordinate training and work assignments of instructional assistants.
• Prepare and maintain reports and other documentation as required.
• Effectively communicate learning progress with students and parents.
• Participate in extracurricular programs, activities, meetings and conferences as required.
