Job summary

Flowers Early Learning in New Buffalo, MI is seeking a Preschool Teacher to serve children aged 3–5. This salaried position runs August–May, Monday–Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a 40-hour workweek and pay between $18.52 and $21.07 per hour, DOE.

Responsibilities include implementing the High Scope curriculum and Conscious Discipline strategies, conducting observations and assessments, and ensuring Head Start and state licensing requirements are met.

Qualifications

• AA or BA in Child Development or Early Childhood Education with 1–2 years of related experience.
• BA degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred within 6 years of hire.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Implement High Scope curriculum and social-emotional growth strategies.
• Perform regular observations and assessments.
• Ensure classroom meets Head Start and Michigan childcare licensing requirements.
• Build child-focused partnerships with families and work with coworkers to maintain health, safety and quality standards.
