The Fairfield YMCA is hiring a Preschool Teacher to join our team of caring, committed educators. In this role, you’ll lead a classroom of 3–5-year-olds in a safe, engaging environment that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and growth.

You’ll plan and lead educational activities, encourage developmental milestones, and partner with families to support each child’s progress. • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (e.g., Child Development, Elementary Education).
• ECTC credential preferred (Associate or Bachelor’s level with Preschool endorsement).
• Prior experience working with preschool-aged children is a strong plus.
• Must complete required YMCA onboarding and safety trainings before start (Mandated Reporter, Child Abuse Prevention, etc.).
• CPR/First Aid Certification for CT Child Care (required within 6 months of hire).
• Medication Administration Certification preferred.
• Must complete background check and fingerprinting per Office of Early Childhood guidelines within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to manage a classroom independently, maintain safety, and respond to children’s needs.
• Strong communication skills and a team mindset.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and actively participate in classroom and outdoor play.
