Job summary

South Shore Early Education and Care, a program of South Shore Community Action Council, West Yarmouth, MA, is seeking a Preschool Teacher for a full-time, year-round schedule (37.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.) with no nights or weekends. Starting hourly rates vary by education level: CDA $24.60, AA/AS $25.62, BA/BS $27.67.

The role focuses on creating engaging lessons, maintaining a safe classroom, and supporting holistic child development in line with EEC standards.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts EEC certification in Preschool is required.
• CDA, associate's degree, or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
• Ability to speak and understand English is required.
• Portuguese, Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Arabic language skills are a plus.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Massachusetts driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging daily lesson plans and curriculum using Creative Curriculum.
• Create and maintain a safe, healthy welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Support children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
• Provide teaching activities that align with EEC Program Standards.
• Assist with meals and classroom routines.
• Monitor children on the bus as assigned.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in other program activities and responsibilities as needed.
