Job summary

Blue River Services, Inc. is seeking a Child & Youth Services Preschool Teacher to develop and implement a developmentally appropriate preschool program at Morgan Elementary School in Palmyra, IN.

You will support children’s physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development in a safe, nurturing classroom environment. Qualifications

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA credential required.
• One year of child care experience required.
• Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Understand Indiana state standards and complete required trainings.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a preschool program with culturally diverse, age-appropriate activities.
• Greet children and maintain ongoing communication with families about progress and expectations.
• Ensure a safe, orderly, nurturing, and sanitary classroom environment; supervise children at all times and report safety concerns.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain classroom materials, lesson plans, bulletin boards, schedules, and supply inventories.
• Write and carry out lesson plans using The Creative Curriculum with activities supporting cognitive, language, motor, social, and self-help development.
• Administer student assessments in fall, winter, and spring; discuss results with parents/guardians.
• Assist with enrollment, demographic information, attendance, medicine logs, incident reports, and other program documentation.
• Plan and participate in conferences, special events, parent newsletters, board reports, and graduation ceremonies.
• Attend staff meetings, complete required trainings, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Maintain professional relationships with school personnel, administrators, families, and agency staff.
