Job summary

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in ECE program.
• 12–24 ECE units, enrolled toward GE units, OR CTC Associate Teacher permit.
• Must obtain permit within 6 months of NBCC employment.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to NBCC policies and procedures.
• Maintain general housekeeping tasks to provide a professional environment.
• Obtain and maintain Pediatric First Aid and Pediatric CPR certifications as required by CA licensing.
• Engage in regular self‑assessment and participate in evaluations with Head Teacher/Site Supervisor.
• Arrange substitutes when ill or on leave in cooperation with Head Teacher/Site Supervisor.
• Attend all NBCC Staff Development Days.
• Demonstrate professional demeanor and teamwork with co‑workers.
• Support teaching team in implementing child behavior plans and referrals.
• Adheres to Personal Rights requirements and fosters warmth and positive attention to each child.
• Provide positive reinforcement and respond to cultural/ethnic backgrounds and individual needs.
• Maintain supervision of children per licensing ratios; ensure coverage.
• Assist with classroom setup and inviting learning environments.
• Maintain classroom documents: meal counts, rosters, etc., and report injuries in writing.
• Develop relationships with parents through open communication; channel feedback to supervisors.
• Work indoors and outdoors; use computers, tablets, and office equipment.
• Be able to work alone and with peers/supervisors.
• Health screenings, TB tests, immunizations as required.
