Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood is seeking a Preschool Teacher who will model Catholic values and guide young learners in a faith-based setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and appropriate state licensure where applicable; practicing Catholic is preferred. The Archdiocese of Chicago Office of Catholic Schools offers a comprehensive total rewards package in addition to a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Practicing Catholic (preferred, required for religion teachers)
• Must meet compliance with safe environment requirements
• Must hold Bachelor’s degree
• Must have valid state licensure for the grade/subject area (preferred, not required)
• Must complete Catholic identity formation training

Responsibilities

• Teach and act in accordance with Catholic doctrinal and moral teachings
• Serve as a role model for religious formation of students and as a representative of the Archbishop and the Catholic Church
• Maintain records and attendance; ensure a safe learning environment
• Participate in professional development and school meetings
• Perform teaching duties as assigned by the principal
• Represent the school at events and in the community
