Job summary

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy in Lakeview seeks an enthusiastic toddler room teacher to join a Catholic school community. The role involves modeling Catholic doctrine, guiding religious formation, and delivering instruction aligned with the Archdiocese of Chicago’s educational mission.

The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic with a Bachelor’s degree and compliance with safe environment requirements.

Qualifications

• Practicing Catholic (preferred, required for religion teachers)
• Must meet compliance with safe environment requirements
• Must hold Bachelor’s degree
• Must have valid state licensure for the grade/subject area (preferred, not required)
• Must complete Catholic identity formation training

Responsibilities

• Teach Catholic doctrine and moral teachings of the Catholic Church
• Act as a role model for religious formation and as a representative of the Archbishop and the Catholic Church
• Teach in accordance with the religious and educational mission and policies of the Catholic school
• Lead and participate in religious instruction, ceremonies, and activities as directed by the principal
• Maintain accurate student attendance and academic records
• Maintain a safe, orderly and secure learning environment
• Attend required faculty and staff meetings and participate in school activities

Education

Bachelor’s degree

State licensure for the grade/subject area (preferred, not required)
