Job summary

Right At School is seeking a part-time teacher for Horace Man & Hawthorne Elementary in California. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 2pm–6pm, with a pay range of $21–$23/hour.

The role focuses on delivering Right At School curriculum, building strong relationships with families, and modeling positive behaviors for students. This position requires 1 year of licensed preschool teaching experience, a high school diploma or GED, and completion of 12 ECE units.

Qualifications

• 1-year experience working as a teacher in a licensed preschool program.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of 12 ECE units (e.g. Child Growth and Development, Child/Family/Community).
• Positive and can-do attitude.
• Respect for children with special needs.
• Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills.
• Strong classroom management and positive discipline.
• Ability to meet state-specific requirements; LIVE Scan fingerprint, FA/CPR, Mandated Reporter training, Health Certificate/TB Test.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Program Manager to deliver dynamic Right At School curriculum.
• Build relationships and communicate with parents to provide the best child care.
• Model positive behaviors to assist with learning and manage the classroom safely.
• Verify quality and compliance by organizing program materials and documenting attendance and incidents.
• Move around and assist with activities, including lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Regularly check in with the Program Manager about personal and child performance metrics.

Position Schedule Options

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2pm-6pm.

• Pay Range: Part-time $21-$23/hr. (dependent on experience, education and the interview process)

As an Part Time teacher every day is different! However, typical duties will include -

• Partnering with the Program Manager to deliver dynamic Right At School curriculum. We work together as a team to achieve our mission and promote collaboration!
• Building relationships and communicating with parents to provide the best child care for their children. We encourage our staff to foster those important relationships that contribute to our success.
• Being a role model for children by modeling positive behaviors to assist with learning. Moving around to manage the classroom and maintain safety with a positive guidance approach.
• Helping our programs be the best they can be! Verifying quality and compliance standards are met by organizing program materials and documenting attendance, incidents, and other observations.
• Being asked to kneel, run, to lift up to 25 lbs, and have a lot of fun while doing so.
• Regularly checking in with the Program Manager about personal and child performance metrics to ensure human growth. Our leaders care deeply about the development of students AND community

Job Requirement

• A passion for working with children
• ****1-year experience working as a teacher in a licensed preschool program
• High school diploma or GED
• ****Completion of 12 ECE units (Course examples per licensing: Child/Human Growth and Development, Child/Family/Community, Child and Family Relations and/or Programs/Curriculum)
• Positive and can-do attitude
• Respect for and dedication to working with children with special needs
• Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to use and model appropriate positive discipline
• REQUIRED: Ability to meet state-specific requirements; complete LIVE Scan fingerprint, FA/CPR, Mandated Reporter training, Health Certificate/Negative TB Test
