Job summary

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) Head Start is seeking a dedicated Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our teaching team. The role focuses on delivering developmentally appropriate activities, supporting the lead teacher, and promoting parental involvement within a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30am to 5:30pm.

You will help implement curricula, monitor children’s progress, and assist in maintaining a safe, healthy learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Preschool CDA endorsement is required or in progress.
• Infant/Toddler CDA or FCCPC required or pursuing degree program.
• Completion of 45 hours Florida Child Care Facility training within 12 months.
• 10 hour Developmentally Appropriate Practices for Preschoolers within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with developing activities for preschool children.
• Implement curricula and support educational objectives.
• Engage families to promote parent involvement.
• Attend staff trainings and meetings as requested.
• Maintain safety, confidentiality, and classroom order.
• Support transportation as Bus Monitor when needed.
• Prepare weekly observations and participate in assessments.
• Assist in health/environment checks and portfolio collection.
