Weston Preparatory Academy is hiring a Preschool Teacher for the 25/26 school year. Must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field.

Job Summary

We seek a passionate GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program) Lead Teacher responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing early childhood education for 4-year-olds, fostering a nurturing environment aligned with standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute lesson plans meeting GSRP standards, catering to diverse learners
• Supervise and guide assistant teachers and support staff
• Observe and assess student progress, documenting outcomes
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum and participate in professional development
• Engage in school activities, meetings, and events
• Maintain a safe, positive environment and effective communication with all stakeholders
• Ensure regular attendance

Additional Demands

Cognitive

• Supervise multiple students
• Establish routines and maintain order
• Create and implement instructional plans
• Participate in ongoing professional growth
• Communicate effectively in speech and writing

Physical

• Lift/move objects up to 25 lbs occasionally
• Stand, walk, sit, and bend as needed
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Perform first aid/CPR if necessary
• Assist and lift students when needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
• Valid Michigan teaching certification/license with ZA or ZS endorsement
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience in preschool or early childhood education
• Knowledge of child development principles
