Job summary

Magical Beginnings is seeking a Certified Preschool Teacher for our Norwell, MA location. The role requires MA EEC Preschool Teacher Certification (or CDA with experience) and a passion for early education in a center setting.

You'll plan age-appropriate activities, collaborate with a co-teacher, and communicate with parents via Class Dojo while maintaining a clean, safe classroom and supporting daily routines.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts EEC Preschool Teacher Certification is required.
• CDA or equivalent degree with experience is acceptable.
• Experience in a center-based daycare or preschool setting is preferred.
• Ability to engage young children with enthusiasm and creativity.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a co-teacher to plan curriculum, lessons, materials, and newsletters.
• Keep parents informed via Class Dojo and classroom boards.
• Provide a safe, clean, and inviting classroom atmosphere.
• Encourage age-appropriate interactive activities and participation.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and prepare for the next day.
• Assist with daily routines: meals, snack prep, bathrooms, naptime.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and track children's progress.
• Maintain required PD hours and PQ registry.

• EEC Teacher Preschool Certification, CDA, or equivalent degree and experience (required)
• Daycare experience in a center-based, private, or public school setting

Some requirements for this role include:

• Flexibility to work an 8-hour shift within the operating hours of the school, including opening and closing shifts
• Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
• Attentiveness, strong time management, and strong collaboration skills

As a Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for:

• Collaborating with your co-teacher to equally prepare curriculum, lesson plans, materials, and monthly newsletters.
• Keeping parents informed by posting parent information on the Class Dojo app and classroom boards.
• Providing a safe environment by maintaining orderly, clean, and appealing classrooms.
• Encouraging children's participation by providing age-appropriate interactive activities.
• Maintaining cleanliness of the classroom: routine opening/closing of the classroom (including, but not limited to wiping down the toys, cleaning tables, vacuuming the room, sanitizing the room (after all children have left), bathrooms, emptying trash, and overall preparation of the classroom for the next morning.
• Engaging with students in free play, supervising/zone during outdoor time, helping with bathroom needs and diapering, snack and meal assistance (preparing snacks, heating up lunches, cutting up food, helping open containers, supervision), naptime assistance, etc.
• Adhering to the school's structured schedules.
• Tracking children's progress and completing assessments.
• Maintaining your EEC required professional development hours and PQ registry.
• Attending monthly staff meetings.
• Creating a fun and safe learning environment for your students.
• Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students and parents.

Payroll is processed weekly.
