Job description

Holy Cross Academy is a vibrant Catholic preschool – 8th grade with over 500 students enrolled. The Early Childhood campus is located in Affton, Missouri,offering 9 early childhood classrooms for children ages 2-5.Teachers will be expected to implement a child-centered daily routine, curriculum and a learning environment that encourages the development of age-appropriate positive social interactions, active exploration/ engagement in learning, and self-motivation (curiosity) to promote development in all domains for children of all abilities.

Job Details:
Early Childhood Teacher
Traditional school year positions and 12 month positions available
Regular weekly schedule: 7:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m or 7:45 a.m.- 3:45 p.m.

Responsibilities:
Create a nurturing, and loving classroom environment that promotes social and emotional development
Create partnerships with families to establish positive interaction patterns in program, school, and home.
Plan daily lessons integrating music, movement, art, reading and fine motor
Introduce Bible stories, Catholic teachings, Advent and Lent and create a faith filled classroom.
Communicate with parents daily and send weekly newsletter
Understand developmental milestones of young childrenand create play experiences to encourage language skills, friendships, fine motor development and individual growth.
Work with other teachers to plan and lead school wide events

Job Requirements:

Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Parents as Teachers Certification, Child Development or other related field preferred
Religion will be taught daily following Catholic teachings and values
Ability to navigate multiple stairs and playground surfaces
Sit on floor and smaller chairs to work with children
Ability to lift 40 lbs on a daily basis
Complete Protecting God’s Children training and background check
