As a Preschool Teacher, you foster curiosity and independence through play and guided instruction, creating a safe, nurturing space for infants to preschool-age children.

You will collaborate with fellow educators and leadership to uphold program goals, communicate with families, and ensure health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have 12 sem/18 qtr ECE units or a BA in Child Development.
• CDA certification is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and nurturing skills for young children.

About the Role

As a Preschool Teacher at Merryhill School, you will help lay the foundation for lifelong learning by creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environment for our youngest students. Whether working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children, you will foster curiosity, independence, and confidence through purposeful play and hands‑on learning. Your classroom will be a warm, joyful space where each child feels supported and celebrated.

You will also:

What We’re Looking For

• 12 semester (or 18 quarter) ECE units covering child development, child/family/community, and curriculum; or a bachelor’s degree in Child Development
• Child Development Associate Certification CDA) preferred
• Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Prior early childhood teaching experience preferredAbility to support a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
